oh geeze

Now isn't that apropos? Gives a whole new meaning to the UPS FedEx Rivalry!

Seems to me UPS won! LOL

Well first of all, Date #2 went smashingly well! He seems to be a pretty real person, down to earth, funny, considerate, and he can hold a conversation! We went to see King Kong at the theater.

My Review: King Kong was a pretty good movie. There was one exceedingly cheesy part, and if you watch it you will know it when it happens. Kong himself was pretty realistic. I didn't ever get the computer generated feel as you do in some films. The only part that looked fake sometimes was when he was carrying the girl. Over all it had some funny parts, lots of action, and some romance. I say see it! My favorite part was the big Kong Fight scene on the Island. :) You will figure that one out too when you see it!

After that, he decided he wanted to get his but kicked in pool again. I could not turn down such an offer! :) Then we went back to my place to catch a movie. Tell me how someone who loves planes and flying has not seen the movie "Behind Enemy Lines" I was like "No way!" I would say it was a really good night, I truly enjoyed his company!

I get off in less than an hour, and then Lar and I are headed South for a New years party tonight. I think we are actually staying in Cape Coral, but I am not sure. I am glad he is driving, as someone kept me up way past my bed time last night. (not that I am complaining!) I am going to see Ruth tonight, I MISS HER!

Now for the bad news: I took my car to have the oil changed today, and as luck would have it, my Rack and Pinion (sp?) needs to be replaced. This is going to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $400 + to fix. Great, right as tuition and books are coming due. But I guess this is life, with the good comes the bad kinda thing. I just wasn't planning on this expense.

Thought for the day: Never "for the sake of peace and quiet" deny your own experience or convictions. ~ Dag Hammarskjold

Factoid: Blood stains on clothes? Not to worry! Just pour a little hydrogenperoxide on a cloth and proceed to wipe off every drop of blood.Works every time! Now, where to put the body? LOL

I want to wish every one a safe and Happy New Year! I just can't believe it is going to be 2006! Good grief where does the time go? Go have fun and party people (just make sure to watch out for those crazies who decide to drive after!)

I was dying to hear about the date, i'm a big romance goof and knew it would not take long before someone desired Sprite!!
I also think it's pretty sweet that you met online, I think that gives getting to know each other a new dimension, bc of the different type of communication you can have.
Glad to hear it went well.
Happy new year to you also! xx

ello all...

Run away, run away! LOL!

Tagged by the Rev^3

what are your five favorite comfort foods?
  1. My Momma's Fried potatoes. they are soooo good!
  2. garlic bread with home made buttermilk ranch to dip it in
  3. BLT's
  4. Strawberries and pineapples dipped in chocolate
  5. Homemade buttermilk ranch (it is its own food group with me)

When you think you have had a bad day at the office, just take a second, take a deep breath and think of this.....

LOL... It may just put things in perspective.

Well just when I was beginning to believe that there was no hope left for the species Male, I have met someone that might just redeem them. We actually kinda met online, so I was a little skeptical to go and meet him. I am glad now that I went. He is an Aeronautical engineer - fancy term for rocket scientist... lol. He has his BS and is working on his Thesus for his Masters at UF. I was a little leary of this too, figuring conversation might be insanely boring, but it was not. He can hold an intelligent conversation and not get lost, he if funny, considerate, polite... He seems to be a serious student, who has goals and aspirations... Thus far he is not a bum. I am both impressed and sort of in shock. lol Hopefully it does not fade away.

We went to Outback for dinner, and then to play pool. Date #2 is tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

For something a little different, I will be posting useful tips as my factoids for a while... something new!

Factoid: To remove old wax from a glass candle holder, put it in the freezer for a few hours then take it out, turn it upside down and the wax will fall out.

Sum it up.... 2005

I love that picture!

I got this idea from Victoria and her friend Mark (new to the blog roll) It is a sum up of major events, or small things that touched me, that have occured this year.

Last December: Was a mile stone for me. I graduated from Santa Fe Community College with honors, 4.0, Phi Theta Kappa, and National Deans list. I was accepted into UF, which was a life long dream for me. Classes began in January.

Last winter: I moved on out of my Mom's, to my very own apartment with my very best friend, Lar. It has been a blast living with him, in the big city of Gainesville. I love our apartment and my independence.

Last spring: My great grandmother passed away in March. It was hard, and she is remembered and loved!

I turned 25, a quarter of a century old... It was hard. We all went out for my birthday, got extremely drunk, played pool, and had a jolly time! I even had a boyfriend at the time.

Oh, Larry, Bonnie and I went to the Highland games in Orlando, where we got to march in the parade representing the Stewart clan. Our clan had the most representatives there, so we won a place of honor this year. I received a written invitation to attend this year! Then Lar and I went to the Hoggetowne medeival fair. We had a blast!

I took a spanish class for emergency responders, and it opened up a whole new door for me. Though it was only a 12 hour course, I loved it and learned a lot. It prompted me to enroll in spanish (which starts January 9th)

Last summer: First and formost I met Ruth. Ruth has become very close to my heart, and I can't even imagine life without her now! I would say she is the best female friend I have had since highschool!

I got my hair cut.... big mistake, I got a few layers and bangs, which I am now trying desperately to grow out!

Lar and I finally got to go kayaking. We took on the Alafia river, and had a wonderful time!

This winter: It has all happend so quickly... I had a botany lab that was lots of fun! wrestled with an alligator, took a trip to the keys... I visited my Sister and Brother, Dad and mom, in Alabama. It was a nice trip. Christmas has come and gone, and I think it was one of the better Christmas' I have ever had. I felt so close to everone. Spent a lot of time with various family members.

It has also been a season of relfection for me. I have often thought of Drew, and how I long to hold a child in my arms again. I have realized that no matter how far away I hold someone, they still have the potential to hurt me. And that I am only hurting myself by not letting anyone in. Sometimes you just have to close your eyes and take that leap of faith.

I guess that about sums it up. It feels like ages since last new years, and yet at the same time it was gone in a blink! Be sure to tell those dear in your life, that you love them. Hold them near, for life is never to hectic for an I love you, or a hug!

I hope to see all my blog roll do something of this nature, sometimes it is good to reflect. It helps us to remember just how quickly life passes by. Take a moment, even if just in your mind, to remember the things that happened this year!

Thought for the day: No love, no friendship, can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark on it forever! ~Francois Muriac

No truer words were ever spoken!

Factoid: The Greek word "gymnasium" means "to exercise naked". In Ancient Greece, gymnasts wore no clothes.

haha, gives a whole new meaning to gym classes!

You are going to be such a good mother some day, you have really got a loving heart.
Well I shall never say gymnasium to a greek person, they may strip off and do star jumps!!
I shall do something simmilar to this on my blog too :D

I never knew snow globes were so scary!

You're the Goddess of Water. You are playful yet calm. You choose clothing and colors that reflect your feelings and hint at your deeply affectionate Nature. You are a content person 24/7. I wish I were you.

People love you fore: Sensitivity and playfulness.....

Factoid: Great Britain was the first county to issue postage stamps, so theirs are the only stamps in the world not to bear the name of the country of origin.

I can't wait to get home! only an hour and 8 minutes. Larry took my car to Best Buy and had my new stereo installed.... I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait..... OMG this hour can't pass quick enough!

Rachel Ray

My mom is a card let me tell you. She watches entirely too much cooking network on tv. She got a few items for her kitchen for Christmas, so she went into this schpiel (sp?) acting like Rachel Ray, and my handy dandy little camera has a video clip function.... watch and laugh, we got three short clips...

I ran out of time on part three, I will upload it on here tomorrow (sorry folks)

It was a really nice Christmas, and I hope it was the same for you! I will be posting lots and lots of pictures very soon!

Very nice!!!!

Though I loved every thing I got, I have two favorites.... my Digital Camera, and I got a car stereo, I can finally get rid of the ghetto player... for almost two years now I have used a disc man plugged into my cigarette lighter and tape deck, well now the tape deck won't accept the tape... My mom rocks! I don't know how she knew, because I never complained to her, or mentioned that I wanted one... :)

I got her started on the italian charm bracelets, she loved it, I got her all kinds of charms! She really had a good Christmas too! My grandparents (my grandmother is the hardest person ever to buy for) seemed to like theirs too. I had a whole list of what not to buy... it is crazy but I won't go into the negative, they were happy so I am happy.

Dinner at Aunt elsies was awesome as usual! Steven and Tessa are engaged. (my baby cousin, Lar's youngest brother) It was so cute! We played some serious pictionary and Lar and I kicked some serious ass! I am telling you we were three quarters of the way through the game and every one else was still in the first section. LOL! $100,000 education and I can play pictionary!
I had like a Christmas week, Christmas at Dad's, Christmas with Lar Friday night, Christmas with Mom, Gail, Lar and her kids Christmas eve, Then Christmas with my Grandparents Christmas Morning, and Christmas with the rest of the family Christmas afternoon - evening! It was great. I don't think I am ready for it to be over. I love having my apartment all decked out with Snowmen, and lights. I love the feeling in the air. But alas another Christmas has come and gone. One day.... I will have my own children to make these memories with.

Well I have to be going ... I leave you with the jusicy tidbits...

Thought for the day: If you think education is expensive, try ignorance. ~ Derick Bok

Factoid: (useless of course!) Firehouses have circular stairways because the engines were at a time pulled by horses. The horses were stabled on the ground floor, and figured out how to walk up straight staircases.

so I found two about circular stair cases: Spiral staircases in medieval castles turn right as they ascend. This was so that (right-handed) knights defending the castle could more easily combat invading foes who were climbing the stairs.

I really want to see those videos! Right now my PC is acting like a dead guy so I have to wait, the joys of the net!!
Oh lady in pink, sounds interesting ;)
I now am thinking about an italian charm bracelet, yours is gorgeous and I love how you can add things that mean something to you. I'm curious about the artistic charms you have there I think one may be monet (unless i'm blind) and Da Vinci, I have seen a lot of Da Vinci's work for real, it was awesome. Nice to hear you got all those great gifts, I love the car stereo story. It will be nice when you have children, Christmas is a fun time for them. Yes I do have a daughter who is almost 10yo, surprise!! :D:D I don't post pics of her bc of all the nutty net explorers.
I had a good laugh at the problem solving sheet, it's so true really :)
Ok I shall get going because i'm taking up the comments, I feel very talkative at the moment, thanks for the laughs and links.
(great to hear you had a good Christmas, makes mine sound like toast lol)

Carmel, the Da Vinci picture I picked becuase of the movie ever after. I love that movie. When ever I get upset, I picture the scene when she goes into the ball all dressed like a fairy and says "just breath"

The Monet is my just favorite painting. I have a poster on my wall. It is addictive, each charm represents something.

Per request...

I took these pictures with my new camera (thank you Lar!) per Carmel's Request.

Behold my almost completed Italian Charm Bracelt. Each charm hand selected for a particular reason. (click any pic to enlarge)

and then this is the really cool part, I was able to piece the pictures together with the new software, and the camera. (this one is really cool, click on it!)

This camera is so cool, it can take black and whites, and panaoramics (like large scene panaramas) up close pictures like the bracelet.... It does all kinds of stuff!

Well I am off to a few Christmas Parties. Blog ya later!

Useless fact of the Day: In 1939 Robert May created rudolph the red nosed reindeer as a Chritmas Prmotion for Montgomery Ward department story in Chicago.

Needs glasses

I just don't think you are supposed to be alone at this time of year. I am sitting here at my house, with all the Christmas decorations lit up, listening to Christmas music, and reflecting on life in general.

In my last post, I said my favorite Christmas Memory was when I was a child and got to carry the baby Jesus to the manger scene. I think that is my favorte childhood Christmas memory. I would have to say that my favorite adult Christmas memory is as follows.

The last year that I was with He who shall never be named, his son was just old enough to understand Santa and opening gifts. We did not have a lot of extra cash, as he had just been laid off, and we had just moved. I was working at Winghouse, which if you are not from here, is like Hooter's only better. Anyhow, we did not have a tree and could not afford one, and had only bought Drew a few things from Santa. I was worried that we could not make his Christmas as wonderful as he deseved.

Well I was putting together a portfolio with the photographer from Winghouse, who stopped by to see me at work. He talked my boss into giving me a 15 minute break to come outside. Bless his heart, he had bought a big wheel, leggos, and a really neat Sesame St. train track set to give to Drew from Santa, and what's more, he dropped off a tree, decorations, lights and an angel topper at my house. I cried. He who shall never be named had the tree up when I got home, and we decorated it, put Drew to bed, and wrapped presents. That combined with the toy box and few other little things we got him really made Drew's Christmas bright.

I could just fell the joy in the air, when he woke up that morning, his eyes bigger than ever, when he looked at me and said Momma, I was good boy! We put together his train track and played for hours. I hope that where ever he is, that he is doing well, and remebers that Christmas at least a little bit, and how full of love it was. I hope he knows that I loved him with all my heart, and I still think of him all the time. I miss him. I saw this picture and thought of him.

Useless fact of the day: According to a 1995 survey, 7 out of 10 British dogs get Christmas gifts from their doting owners. (I got my dog one lol)

How bout this one: Although many believe the Friday after Thanksgiving is the busiest shopping day of the year, it is not. It is the fifth to tenth busiest day. The Friday and Saturday before Christmas are the two busiest shopping days of the year.

Thought for the day: This is more than a thought, it is a song, but perhaps it will get all you ba-humbugs out there thinking, and for the rest of us, drive home what Christmas is all about.

It was almost Christmas time
There I stood in another line
Try to buy that last give or two
I'm really in Christmas mood
Standing right in front of me
Was a little boy waiting anxiously
Pacing around like little boys do
And in his hands he had
A pair of shoes

And his clothes were worn and old
He was dirty from head to toe
And when it came his time to pay
I couldn't believe what I heard him say

Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want it to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus tonight

They counted pennies for what seems like years
And cashier says son there's not enough here
He searches is pockets franticly
And he turned and he looked at me
And he said Momma made Christmas good in our house
Most years she just did without
Tell me Sir
What am I gonna do?
Some how I gotta buy her these Christmas shoes

So I lend the money down
I just had to help him out
And I'll never forget
The look on his face
When he said Momma's gonna look so great

Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want it to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus tonight

I know I won't regret some help as he thanked me and ran out
I know that God sent that little boy to remind me
What Christmas is all about

Sir I wanna buy these shoes for my Momma please
It's Christmas Eve and these shoes are just her size
Could you hurry Sir?
Daddy says there's not much time
You see she's been sick for quite a while
And I know these shoes will make her smile
And I want it to look beautiful
If Momma meets Jesus tonight

I want it to look good
If Momma meet's Jesus tonight

by Bob Carlisle

I heard this song today for the first time, as I was pulling into the grocery. I teared up, and it really made me get my heart back on track, as I was feeling a bit bah humbug about Christmas too!

Where are you Christmas?

You should listen to this while you read, it is a great Christmas song.

Thanks Carmel
1. Hot Chocolate or apple cider? Apple cider
2. Turkey or Ham? Both, but if I had to choose only one, honey baked ham!
3. Do you get a Fake or Real you cut it yourself christmas tree? I have had real trees, but right now I have a fake one.
.4. Decorations on the outside of your house? I would love to, but my apartment really has no place for them. I do have a welcome matt with snowmen that sings frosty the snowman everytime you step on it.
5. Snowball fights or sleddin? well in my experience, if you go sledding you will inevitably get into a snow ball fight. so sledding
6. Do you enjoy Going downtown shopping? I love to shop!
7. Favorite Christmas song? What Child is This and Where are you Christmas
8. How do you feel about Christmas movies? I love them. Every year mom and I watch Rudolph when we put the tree up, we did not do it this year, because I moved. I actually cried when I put up my little tree by myself.
9. When is it too early to start listening to Christmas music? Never, I love Christmas music!
10. Stockings before or after presents? After, it is the finishing touch...
11. Carolers, do you or do you not watch and listen to them? I love carolers, I love caroling...
12.Go to someone elses house or they come to you? I go to mom's and then Mema and Papa's, and then my Aunt's house
13. Do you read the Christmas Story? If so when? In grade school
14. What do you do after presents and dinner? Relax, mingle with family
15. What is your favorite holiday smell? my mom's Chrismas cookies, my aunt elsies house full of country cooking, peppermint, pine trees... emmmm, the whole season smells good!
16. Ice skating or walking around the mall? both, Ice skating is awesome, but walking around the mall, seeing the kids with Santa, taking all the sights and sounds, the decorations...
17. Do you open a present or presents on Christmas Eve, or wait until Christmas day? Christmas eve with my friends, then after that mom and I exchange gifts. Chrismas Morning we go to my grandparent's house. So both!
18. Favorite Christmas memory? Every year in my church we had a manger scene, and the baby Jesus would not be placed in it till Christmas eve mass. The Chrismas after I moved, I was visiting my Mema and Papa, and we went to Christmas eve mass, my Priest, Father James, asked me to carry the baby Jesus in with him when he entered the church, and place him in the manger scene. It had never before been done that way, and to my knowledge never since. I miss Father James.
19. Favorite Part about winter? the on set of spring, I hate the cold! but other than the weather Christmas eve, it is so magical.
20. Ever been kissed under mistletoe? No but I hope my first kiss under mistletoe is special.

A special thanks to Yara for this quiz...
Your Christmas is Most Like: A Charlie Brown Christmas

Each year, you really get into the spirit of Christmas.
Which is much more important to you than nifty presents.
What Movie Is Your Christmas Most Like?

Well the mood is cheerful here at work today. I love Christmas! I am listening to Christmas music, drinking coffee and just chillin with my coworkers. We work in such a small department that it really is like extended family, most of which I love. I wish I could afford to shop for them all!

I went with Lar to do his Christmas Shopping last night. I still need to hit Lowes for my last Christmas gift, it is nothing big, but I have yet to have a chance to get over there. Other than that I have been done for a while... Why is it that guys always wait till the last minute to shop? I am going to finish up my wrapping tonight I hope.

All I want for Christmas:

I guess my ma is having company till Friday, so I will not get to go over there till Saturday... that is okay. My Draco was so happy to see me yesterday when I picked him up! I missed his little self!

Thought for the day: Snowmen fall from Heaven unassembled. (unknown)

Useless facts of the Day: People who kissed under the Mistletoe were to end their grievances with each other

Joseph could have had Mary stoned to death for becoming pregnant, I am glad he had faith!

The first electric Christmas tree lights were telephone switchboard lights

I will blog ya later folks... hope your days are filled with holiday bustle!

all natural...

Hello all, I am back, and in an incredibly good mood...

ROFLMAO!

I thought yall might like that!

My trip was great. Dad and I rode horses Sunday, it was awesome. Then my Sis and I went to Olive Garden for lunch, and Christmas shopping (I was done, but she had not started.), got our nails done, and went home for turkey dinner. Then we exchanged gifts (so far as what I had bought them, and visa versa.

Mom and Dad really liked the horse statue thing I got them, it rotates and lightes up, really cool. Carrie liked her jacket, and Robert liked his presents too! Dad got me the prettiest cross with emeralds and diamonds, and my brother got me an awesome watch! I got some clothes, and Carrie got me some eyeshadow. overall it was a good little visit!

Thought for the day: You must get involved to have an impact, no one is concerned with the win loss record of the referee. ~John Holcomb

Useless fact of the day: "Beelzebub", another name for the devil, is Hebrew for "Lord of the Flies".

You are probably wondering if I will ever run out of these... for now it seems not!

hmmmmm.... something to think on at least.

Well folks I will blog ya later!

Abalama

Just an brief update to let you guys know that I did get here okay!

So far it has been pretty nice. I have spent a lot of time hanging out with my little brother, who is not so little anymore. We finished our Christmas Shopping, played with the Horses, went to his friends house and hung out, had breakfast at IHOP the night I flew in, at like 1 in the morning.

I drug them all to the dollar store to get decorations to wrap with like wired ribbon, small ornaments, garland, and Christmas pins, and wrapped presents all afternoon with mom (my dad's wife) we got everything wrapped and decorated, and she really enjoyed doing it.

My Cousin (also from florida) came up with shrimp and flounder and we had a killer dinner, and Robert and I are about to head to the airport to pick up my sister. I am happy, as I thought she was not going to make it before I left. She is currently studying in Utah.

I don't have a digital camera, or I would post pictures.

Well, I am going to close, just wanted to send a shout out.

Thought for the day: If you are going through hell.... keep going! ~unknown

Today's trivia - The product's full name is WD-40 Water Displacer, which was perfected on the fortieth attempt.

I leave you with this riddle:

And I leave you with this riddle - What is greater than God, more evil than the devil, the poor have it, the rich need it, and if you eat it you will die.

Blog ya later~

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHa, and that is all I will say about that!

oh I found this quiz, and I thought it was a good one!

Which Charecter from Narnia are you...
I got Lucy:

You have a strong sense of responsibility toward others and a deep respect for other people, even strangers, though you are not always sure what the best course of action is. You are Lucy, the brave child who who is wise beyond her years and kind to all she meets.

If you have not seen this movie yet, I highly suggest you go! It is well worth it, and even more so, the book was Awesome~

Leavin on a jet plane

So kiss me and smile for me
Tell me that you'll wait for me
Hold me like you'll never let me go
Cause I'm leaving on a jet plane
Don't know when I'll be back again
Oh babe I hate to go

Today is the big day, I am flying out to Alabama... so I probably won't update for a few days.

Nun of that!

Good News: I got an A in my Methods of Research class... Yay!
okay news: I got a B in statistics II.
More good news: I finished my Christmas shopping down here. I am going to take my brother shopping for he and my sister in Alabama. This was not because I could not pick something out, but becuase 1. I thought it was a nice way to spend time with my Brother, and 2. I don't have to try and fit two more presents in my already stuffed suitcase. Other than thatI am done. I have only 6 presents left to wrap, and a few stocking stuffers for my mom.

The lady prisoners are waxing the floors here at the police department, so we are kinda blocked into dispatch. It sucks.

Some of my charms have come in. I am totally excited! I will post a picture when I have completed the collection!

I kinda got tagged twice reading Carmel's and the Rev^3's blogs. "So this is about quotes that mean something to us, that just stick and we remember them and also live by them and that are special to us. "

I have posted most of these in the year + past, but they are the ones that stick with me the most!

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling f my pain but for the heart to conquer it. ~ Rabindranath Tagore.

I posted this one not too long ago, but it is still my favorite! I try to remember these words when I am faced with hardship, and I always make it through.

Work like you don't need the money, Dance like nobodies watching, and love like you have never been hurt. ~Unknown

I have yet to conquer this one, the love like you have never been hurt is hard for me.

To see a world in a grain of sand, and a heaven in a wild flower, to hold eternity in the palm of your hand, an infinity in an hour. ~William Blake

God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdome to know the difference.

Living on day at a time; enjoying one moment at a time; accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;

Taking, as He did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would hav it; Trusting that He will make all things right if I surrender to His Will; That I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with Him forever in the next. ~ Reinhold Niebuhr

I know everyone has heard the first part of this, and it is good advice... but the second part really helps drive it home, and is not as well known.

If you are reading this, consider yourself tagged. I would love to see Victoria, Alex, and Patrick Respond...

I guess that is it for those quotes that I try to live by, but here are some other thoughts I leave you with...

I believe there are two kinds of people on earth, those that wake up and say "good Lord it's morning" and those that wake up and say "Good morning Lord" I try to fall under that second category. It helps me start my day out on the right foot.

and here are a few from movies that I love!
Patch Adams:
"I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly without complexities abide. I love you because I know no other way then this. So close that your hand, on my chest, is my hand. So close, that when you close your eyes, I fall asleep."

Meet Joe Black:
"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without. If you don't start with that, what are you going to end up with? Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back. And how do you find him? Forget your head and listen to your heart. I'm not hearing any heart. Run the risk, if you get hurt, you'll come back. Because, the truth is there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived."

I could go on for days with movie quotes... I love them!

Useless fact for today: Dueling is legal in Paraguay as long as both parties are registered blood donors.

and Todays thought for the day: (as if there weren't enough to digest above....) Do not ask the Lord to guide your footsteps, if you are not willing to move your feet. ~ Unknown

If I am unable to check in, you guys have a safe couple of days! Blog ya later!

tanqueray in tuesday...

Top 10 reasons to live in Florida:
1. You can wear sandals in the winter.
2. Hurricane season is a great excuse for a 3 month hurricane party.
3. You can store your lawn funiture in your pool, and no one thinks its odd.
4. You have a closet designated for batteries and water
5. you get to put christmas lights in palm trees.
6. those plastic pink flamengos don't look tacky or out of place.
7. You never have to store your summer clothes, because it will be warm enough to wear them at least one day every month.
8. no matter which way you drive, the beach is never more than a couple of hours away.
9. there is an entire region called alligator alley (especially cool if you go to UF, and are considered a gator!)
10... and the biggest reason to move to Florida, you never have to wake up and ask... dude, where's my car?

That was a lot to come up with just so I could post that damned picture! LOL

bringing it back down to a personal level...
Wow, I am traveling at the speed of life... somebody apply the brake!

Friday we had the Chirstmas Parade, it was nice. Lar and I, met Ruth and Foofie at the Ale house for a lovely dinner, and then headed over to see the Chronicles of Narnia. I highly reccommend this movie! Saturday I finished outlining Chapter 15, and finished most of my Christmas Shopping. Poor Lar, I drug him along. I began the wrapping process Saturday night. I love to wrap! I use all kinds of wired ribbon, garland, and ornaments to decorate my packages, and they always look as if they are profesisonally wrapped. It takes me forever, but they look so good under the tree, and the people who open them always seem so pleased. Then there is the satisfaction I get out of being "artsy fartsy!" As Victoria would say, I am glued on it.

Saturday night, our noisey upstairs neighbors had another party. I ended up calling GPD twice. I don't mind a party now and then, but on finals weekend, until 430 in the morning is a bit much. They were pissing off the balcony right next to my room... I could actually hear their golden streams... disgusting! By the time they quieted down, I was on my second wind. I did not get to sleep until 6 am.

Sunday I tried to study... I did laundry... went grocery shopping, and tried to study some more.

Monday.................... I really don't remember the details of yesterday, it was so busy. I took my last final exam of the Semester. (it feels really good to be done with school for the semester.) I skipped half a class over this section to go to tutor zone for my stat final... he must have discussed a particular study that was not in the notes or the book, and he asked 5 or 6 questions on the test about it. I though that it was wieghted entirely too heavily. I could not even bs my way through it, questions like what statistical test did they use, and what type of sampling did they use. Grrr... probably knocked mytest down to a B...

It was also the Fire Department Christmas Dinner, so after my final, I spent the day running around like a chicken with my head cut off, as I have done for the last 5 years. As always it was a lot of work, but a lot of fun. Clean up always goes smoother than set up, ah behold the power of 25 firefighters.... LOL! Dinner was great, and it was worth the exhausting effort!

This brings us to today. Work has been hectic, and I am heading to my mom's house after. Still doing pretty good with quitting. I have cheated a couple of times, but I have not bought any, and one or two is not nearly as bad as 20. I still feel horrible. I really want to just be done with it, but it is so very hard!!! I think going to Alabama will do me some good with that. I will be away from my usual surroundings, and have 10 horses to play with, as well as family to visit, and lots of stuff to do.

Tomorrow, I am going to shop with Ruth after work... at least I think I am, and then pack.

Useless fact of the day: The human brain stops growing at age 18, and is 80% water. Your skin weighs twice as much as your brain. The storage capacity of the human brain is about 4 terabytes (4,000 gigabytes).

Thought for the day: A man with outward courage dares to die, a man with inward courage dares to live. ~ Lao-Tzu

I don't know that I agree completely with that thought, I think to some degree you must find a happy median, but then there needs to be some measure of central tendancy in everything in life, it is what gives us balance.

OMG, I got the coolest Christmas decoration. It is a snowman welcome mat, and when you step on it, it sings Frosty the Snowman. It is quite humorous, I scare the crap out of myself with it all the time. I am done babbleing. I think I shall end this update, and head to moms!

Whew... I told you it has been crazy busy.... (this song is stuck in my head!)

city sidewalks, busy side wlaks
dressed in holiday style
in the air there's a feeling of Christmas.

Children Laughing, people passing
meeting smile after smile
and on every street corner you'll hear

silver bells, silver bells
it's chirstmas time in the city,
ring a ling, hear them ring,
soon it will be chirstmas day.

addicted

I told yall that I am quitting smoking, well I have a new addiction... ebay... Not just any ebay either, italian charms for my italian charm bracelet. I have had this damned bracelet for over a year now, and have not bought any new charms. So, I got an ebay account, and I have been a bidding maniac. I have won a few too. I am stoked.

I think smoking was cheaper though... LOL!

I gave up three years ago. Free at last! You don't realise how enslaved you were until it's all behind you.

Molly's uncle bought her a charm bracelet, and will buy her a new charm each birthday and Christmas. That way, he always knows what to buy for her. AND he said, when she's 18 it'll be quite a valuable asset, and if she wants to sell it and travel the world or whatever, that'll be fine.

The point is, you'll have fun collecting the charms, but it's going to gain in value. Whereas your cigarettes just went up in smoke.

I'll be good 'till thursday comes

The world will think i never had

An idea that could drive me mad

I don't know why it occured to me to include song lyrics about the corresponding days of the week, but the week is almost over... so nah!

I'll be good 'till thursday comes

Hopefully today won't drag on! I am headed to mom's after work, to pick up some of my Christmas Decorations. I have oodles of snowmen! I love snowmen! We put my big tree up at her house, So she is going to lend me an itty bitty tree... :( but I think it is best due to the small size of my apartment! And coupled with the other decorations, I think it will look fine!

I can't believe that it is nearing the end of yet another year. Where on earth does the time go? I am getting so damned old! I can't help but feel like it is time to grab life by the horns... but sometimes I just feel like all I can do is hold on, cause it really is a wild ride! I can't help but feel like I am so behind. Not behind as in like I have bills to pay, or homework to do. Like I am not where I thought I would by by the age of 25. I fully expected to be married with kids by now. And reading Garry's Blog, with his Molly Adventures, it make me realize how much I miss that.
I wonder how the little one is doing. For those of you who do not know, I dated my x-fiance (he who shall never be named) who had a 6 mo old boy. I raised him until we broke up, for 2.5 years. He called me Momma. It always tugs on my heartstrings at this time of year. I mention it now, becuase Molly had her shots yesterday, and it brought back very dear memories of Drew's first shots. I cried like a baby. I remember his Christmas' and the look of sheer joy when he figured out how to open presents. Being a surrogate mother, I had no rights when we split ways. Thinking back, I believe that he was the reason I hung on so long to begin with. My heart hurts for him, I wish the best for him. I would give anything to have him in my arms again, with his head full of curls. He would be 7 now. I also tend to reflect on what could have been. He who shall never be named, and I were pregnant, but lost the baby on Drew's birthday, and though it has been almost 5 yrs a week ago, it still haunts my dreams.

I think I have the baby blues. And what is sad, is that there is no clear fix in sight. I don't for see me being married, or even seriously involved with anytime soon. I don't know what defense mechanism I have in place, or how to disable it, but I long to be free from it's chains. Or perhaps it is not me, perhaps there just are not any good men left out there. se la ve...

quick change of subject, sorry if I drug anyone down.

My final is fast approaching. My studying is slow going. Chapter 15 seems to be the never ending chapter!

Then burn all good away

Useless trivia: The letter "J" does not yet appear anywhere within the periodic table of the elements.

Thought for the day: (Since it's appropriate, only a few parts were quoted...)

Yesterday, December 7, 1941 - a date which will live in infamy - the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan...

Always will we remember the character of the onslaught against us. No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory...

With confidence in our armed forces, with the un bounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph so help us God...

Spritey!! *Huge hugz*
I did read once on your blog that you helped raise your exe's child for a couple of years.
You have a beautiful heart and loved him just like a bio mother, that love can happen, it doesnt take the whole birthing experience to know that bond between mother and child.
I'm sure you played a very huge role in his life and did your part, who knows what would have happened if you had not been there? I'm not saying your ex is bad, im just talking of the circumstances of life.
Perhaps one day you can see him again or write him when he is older.
Sorry about your loss of child too, my cousin just miscarried recently and is devestated. There is a beautiful place for those children who don't make it into this world, and really it's not such a wonderful world these days!
Take care x

We Remember

December 7th, 1941 was the attack on Pearl Harbor. Please take a moment of silence for all those who tradgecally died that day, civilian and soldier.

Its HUMP day... whew hooo! It was a really long day at work.

I don't have a lot to update about. Just wanted to put something up about Pearl Harbor. Think I might take this opportunity to watch that movie.

Useless fact of the day: A barmaid reportedly decorated her establishment with the tail feathers of cocks. One day a patron asked for "one of those cock tails." She served him a drink with a feather in it...

Tuesday's gone with the wind...

Train roll on, on down the line,

Me to IT guy: The mouse is stuck in the printer
IT guy back to me: How the hell did you manage that.
Me to IT guy: this is one you will have to see to believe sir.
IT guy to me: is it still attached to your pc?
Me to IT guy, I really think you sould see this.
IT guy to me: Holy $###! How the F@@@?
Me to IT guy: I told you.

You know it's a bad day at the office... when the mouse that is stuck in the printer

is still alive.

no mice were harmed in the making of this photo. Not it was not my office, and I made up the IT guy conversation.... it was funny though. I was told that the mouse lived.
the end

I was up really late last night, helping Ruth overcome some life difficulties, and study for her test today. Hope she did okay! Today is seriously dragging on now though. We both got like 2 hours of sleep. I didn't mind at all though, I know she would have done the same for me.

And thanks to Starbender for this one too! It had me in stitches! It does not matter how you say it, still sounds terrible!

Won't you please take me far away?

Now I feel the wind blow outside my door,

Useless fact for the day: The word "checkmate" comes from the Persian phrase "Shah Mat," meaning "the king is dead".

Means I'm leaving my woman behind.

Tuesday's gone with the wind.

So, I did not get my last chapter outlined yet. I think I want to go home a take a nap... then see if Lar has plans, and if not, pounce on this opportunity to play the game. I do so miss the game. I have to stop by Rufy's to get my stuff, and she wanted to wash our cars, but I just don't have the energy.

My baby's gone with the wind.

Just another Manic Monday

Swat team.... Santas?

Mess with these guys and you may be getting lead rather than coal...

wish it was Sunday....

SO I have quit smoking again. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Lar made chocolate covered strawberries and pineapples as a reward. Ruth has offered to be my support group!

I ended up with a B in statistics. I am very disapointed. I am sick of busting my ass for mediocer grades. I think that I will not get started on this rant right now.

ooohhhh ooohhhh o! Cause that's my fun day!

I used this picture for the poetry contest this month on Poetryarray.

I will finish the last chapter tonight, for psychology. Once it is outlined, I can ace my quiz... then all I will have to do is study for the final. My teacher says pitchers instead of pictures. It really bugs me. Yes I am in class right now, yes I am bored out of my mind.

My I don't have to runday... ohhhhh ohhhh o!

Just another Friday

This was really neat in my email. but I can't figure out how to make it work. It flashes the different messages. I have seen them on the side of the road, and they always make me smile.
It also said: Need directions?
That love thy neighbor thing, I meant it.
You think it's hot here???
Loved the wedding, invite me to the marriage.
Lets meet at my house Sunday, before the game.
Do you have any idea where you are going?
My way IS the highway.
The big bang theory? You have got to be kidding!
Keep using my name in vain, and I will make rush hour longer.
C'mon over and bring the kids.

BIG FOOT Sighting?

The bridge (or should it be called tunnel) goes under water to allow movement of ships
. In order for ships to pass, this bridge is half under the water. You drive down in the water and then come out on the other side. Truly ! a marvelous piece of engineering! This bridge is between Sweden and Denmark . Picture taken from the side of Sweden Now that is kinda scary! It would be really neat if it was see through!

And this is just a classic! I love it, in fact I think I shall print one out for my wall here at work!

I am working dispatch today from 3 - 11pm, and I have been here since 8 am... that makes for a long day, but I don't mind. I could use the OT money...

I think I did pretty well on my test yesterday. I was so damned tired by the time I finished, my brain was just fried. I went home and literally fell into bed. Only time will tell. I made at least one stupid mistake. Two down, two to go... Saturday is my Algae lab final. It should not be too bad though. I am sorry that this class is ending. It was a boat load of fun! Spending 3 days in the keys brought the group pretty close together too I think!

I really don't have a lot to update about... It is just waiting now. I am waiting on my paper grade, and my stat II final grade. I have three chapters to read, outline, and take quizzes for this weekend.

Christmas shopping... I have never not wanted to go Christmas shopping, ever. I just don't have the funds this year. It sucks! I am hoping the overtime on this coming weeks check will help with that!

Every one I know is either having babies, or getting married. It makes me kinda sad. On one hand, I am so ready to be in that stage of my life, and on the other, I am in school, and don't have the time to devote to a relationship, let alone a marraige and a child or two. Dating makes it that much worse, cause finding a guy that challenges me intellectually, and matches my spirit is next to impossible.

Useless trivia: The names of the three monkeys are Mizaru (see no evil), Kikazaru (hear no evil), and Iwazaru (speak no evil).

Thought for the day: Everything comes to him, who hustles while he waits. ~ Thomas A. Edison

Blog ya later folks!

Moment of Truth

Just breath.... (name that movie) Test in an hour and 20 minutes. The Final... I hate that word it is so, well final.

Useless fact: The Declaration of Independence was written on hemp paper...

Thought for the day: This is one of my favorites, may be a repeat from well over a year ago, but it fits the mood today -

Let me not pray to be sheltered from dangers, but to be fearless in facing them. Let me not beg for the stilling of my pain, but for the heart to conquer it. ~Rabindranath Tagore

I will try to update more later, let you know how I did, or not, I was up till 3 am studying. I am going to have a drink after the test, a big drink.

I got a strong B on my psych test. It was a lot of statistics too, I hope that is not an omen of things to come.

I love Tagore's poetry. Love it! They are so beautiful and naturally devotional. It's so lacking in much faith based poetry these days. Ever read Rumi?
